In an interview with Radio 4 this week, Asda chief executive Andy Clarke said the horsemeat scandal was not related to price, rejecting theories that supermarket focus on cheap food was to blame for the scandal. Clarke blamed criminals within the supply chain instead, and said that Asda had reviewed its supply chains thoroughly in the wake of the scandal.
