how do you declare yourself bankrupt?
Not Legal Advice: To declare yourself bankrupt, you need to get application forms for bankruptcy from your local County Court. This will include a fee. You will then present your completed application at the County Court in person. Then you will meet with a District Judge and an Official Receiver. Bankruptcy is usually set up for 12 months. You can only declare bankruptcy if you have a UK passport, most of your debt was in the UK, and you can pay the Court fees in cash when you present your application.
