How many people on average go to download festival each year?
Sources suggest that 90,000 attended the Download Festival in 2014 and 90,000 went in 2013. 2012 was the 10th year of the Download Festival with 100,000 rock fans in attendance and in 2011 it attracted 70,000.
The venue (Donnington Park) has a daily capacity of 111,000. Download Festival is a three day event dedicated to true rock fans with a lineup of heavy music bands in Donnington. This was formerly known as Monster’s of Rock; Download replaced it and added more diversity.
The first Download Festival was held in 2003 but it was just a 2 day event with 2 stages on the hallowed ground, headlined by Iron Maiden and Audioslave (late replacements for Limp Bizkit, who pulled out of the festival). The music fest has had several world famous bands over the years including Ozzy Osbourne, Feeder, Tool, AC/DC, My Chemical Romance, Kiss and so much more.
