How many people on average go to download festival each year?
While there is no official 2013 figure released just yet; the venue (Donnington Park) has a daily capacity of 111,000. 2012 was the 10th year of the Download Festival; it attracted 100,000 rock fans and in 2011 it attracted 70,000 people.
Download Festival is a three day event dedicated to true rock fans with a lineup of heavy music bands in Donnington. This was formerly known as Monster’s of Rock; Download replaced it and added more diversity.
The first Download Festival was held in 2003 but it was just a 2 day event with 2 stages on the hallowed ground, headlined by Iron Maiden and Audioslave (late replacements for Limp Bizkit, who pulled out of the festival). The music fest has had several world famous bands over the years including Ozzy Osbourne, Feeder, Tool, AC/DC, My Chemical Romance, Kiss and so much more.
Of interest, Iron Maiden, Slipknot and Rammstein headlined this year's Download Festival; joined at the event by the likes of Bullet For My Valentine and Queens of the Stone Age.
