Terry Wogan, who has anchored the Children in Need annual appeal since 1978, has previously earned £10,340 for the job. The amount was paid for by BBC, not Children in Need.
Sir Terry claims to never have asked for a fee to participate and says he would be happy to do it for nothing. As of 2007, he has donated any payments made to him for his work on the appeal show to Children in Need.
Children in Need 2012 raised a record £26,757,446. The total will continue to rise as money comes in from events that have already been held or are scheduled to happen in the near future.
