Is gary speed dead?

Yes, Gary Speed died on 27 November 2011 of an apparent suicide. At the time of his death, he was the manager of the Welsh national team. He died at the age of 42 and is survived by his wife and two children. Speed had a 22-year long playing career, which included playing 535 Premier League games for five clubs and Wales 85 times. His death has shocked the footballing world, including former Newcastle great Alan Shearer.
