Is the bird in the guinness advert a dodo?
No, the bird pictured in Guinness adverts is not a dodo, it's a toucan. The Toucan was first used way back in 1935 in an advertising campaign in which a toucan had a couple of bottles of Guinness perched on its beak and displayed the caption:
- If he can say as you can
"Guinness is good for you"
How grand to be a Toucan
Just think what Toucan do.
The adverts were so recognizable that they continued using a toucan image in their ads for 45 years.
