Just recently, reports said that Maidstone is expecting to lose around £660,000 which represents the 12% of its Government funding in the year 2014 to 2015. Restructuring of its senior officers is in process which they believe could save around £135,000 in a full year and a new waste collection contract might also save Maidstone £500,000 a year.
