What does BP mean in the Rugby World Cup tables?
In the Rugby World Cup tables BP means bonus points, PF means points for, PA means points against, TF means tries for, and TA means tries against. Bonus points are awarded when a team scores four tries in a game, or when a team loses by seven points or less. The first Rugby World Cup was held in 1987 and hosted by Australia and New Zealand; New Zealand beat France 29-9.
