What is ayers rock famous for?
Ayers Rock, or Uluru, is famous for appearing to change colour as different light strikes it. It is made of sandstone with minerals infused that reflect sunrise and sunset's red light, making it appear to glow. The Australian rock is red coloured because of the high amount of iron oxidizing on the surface. Ayers Rock is more than 318 metres high and goes 2.5 km into the ground.
