What is Mokle Mnembe ?

A mokele-mbembe is water-dwelling animal with a long neck and tail and three claws, like a sauropod dinosaur, that supposedly lives in the Congo river basin. There have been many unsuccessful expeditions to find the creature from as early as 1776 to present day. Mokele-mbembe means "one who stops the flow of rivers" in the language of Lingala, spoken in Central and Eastern Africa.
