What's the history of the hare that's precedes the dogs on a greyhound track. Was it ever a real hare? What is it now? When did it change? Etc.
Greyhound racing has its origins in coursing (hunting hares with dogs). In 1912 Owen Patrick Smith invented the mechanical hare and the sport was born.
