When is the great gatsby set?
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is set in 1922 on Long Island's North Shore and New York City from spring to autumn, after World War I ended. The narrator is Nick Carraway, a young man who moved to New York City, after fighting in the war, to learn the bond business; he rents a house next to Jay Gatsby's mansion and soon gets to know Gatsby. In the 2012 film adaptation directed by Baz Luhrmann, Carraway is played by Tobey Maquire and Leonardo DiCaprio is Gatsby.
